How Do You Distinguish Your Classical Chinese Paintings From Forgeries?
Our classical Chinese paintings emerge from the centuries-old, still-current practice of learning from the masters by studying carefully their masterpieces, still preserved in some parts of China. Although each Chinese painting seems to resemble the original masterpiece in many ways, such as the composition and brushstrokes, it reflects individual artist's different interpretation of the original work. Morever, each painting is created by professionally trained Chinese artist and bears the name of its creator.

How Do Your Classical Chinese Paintings Differ from Others?
Our Classical Chinese Paintings are not mechanical reproduction of the original but museum-quality new creation of a traditional theme. Each was painted by a comtemporary Chinese artist. Most of our artists are art professors who devote themselves to the teaching of traditional Chinese painting techniques and methods. In creating the paintings, our artists shy away from the modern concern with “original” creation, and they avoid the other extreme of mere repetition. Instead, they follow the Six Principles (Liufa 六法) established by the founder of Chinese art criticism, Xie He (500-535). Xie believed that Vitality and Spirit were the most important values in painting, and that they could only be achieved through the conscientious training of new talent in studying the works of old masters.

How Long Does It Take to Paint a New Classical Chinese Masterpiece?
It depends entirely on the medium, size, complexity, and quality of the original work. Some of our paintings are completed in two to four weeks, while others (like The Double Screens on our home page) take more than six months of full-time work. Mounting, packaging, and shipping to you require an additional two weeks or so. The paintings listed in our Current Offerings are in stock and can be delivered to you immediately after we receive your payment.. Customized commissions are available but usually take longer.
