Our Chinese Buddhist Paintings are museum-quality original Chinese paintings created by established contemporary Chinese artists in China. Our artists preserve the 1,500-year old tradition of Chinese painting. Their choices of subject matter are either inspirational or personal, reflecting their respect for the classical Chinese painting techniques. They paint each painting with passion and individuality. Some of the featured artists are Buddhist devotees, with a generous heart to share with you what they think is beautiful and important in their lives. They define traditional Buddhist subject matters in a contemporary context and add a unique twist to its original interpretation.

Buddhist paintings displayed here represent the finest creation of contemporary Buddhist pictorial art and reinterpretations of Buddhist temple art discovered on the Silk Road. For example, wall paintings from Dunhuang Buddhist cave temples (Dunhuang, Gansu) and silk banners from the Khara Khoto Collection (Inner Mongolia, China) are carefully chosen to highlight the gems of Buddhist fine arts from old China.
